This project was previously posted as a single project. Based on a recommendation given to us, we have separated this project into several smaller projects. This is one of the smaller projects.
This project requires a candidate with proficiency and skill using AutoCAD Civil 3D. 2017 is the preferred version, but earlier versions are acceptable too. Skills related to ‘plain’ AutoCAD are a plus, but this project requires skills specific to the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D, which includes drawing management, objects, templates, styles, etc. Using ‘plain’ AutoCAD will not be acceptable. The ultimate purpose of this project is to construct and finish an actual physical building. To achieve that, a file called “Neighborhood Site url removed, login to view” will be created to show the property that a Secondary Dwelling Unit will be built on. It will be based on the DWG files and descriptions we have included with this project and will include several views, contours, 3D isometric drawings, etc.
Please read the attached documentation and review the included DWG and PDF files for a full description of this project before you submit a bid. We will not consider candidates that have not reviewed the entire project, so please be familiar with the included documents and drawings. Take your time as we will not choose a candidate just because they responded sooner.
We would rather have quality over speed. Please let us know the hours, cost, your availability, and anticipated completion date for the project. Thank you for your time.
It appears the Freelancer.com web site is not fully compatible with Microsoft Edge. When I originally posted these projects, I uploaded files, and the Freelancer.com web site reported they were successfully uploaded. They weren't.
Very frustrating as it is a bit difficult to get a project going if the nice people bidding on the project can't get the files. Anyway, they are now uploaded. Please review the documentation and DWG files. Skills: See more:,.
Written by: Bryan Sullivan This outlines the steps involved to translate an AutoCAD Civil 3D 2018 DWG file to MicroStation V8 DGN file format. The workflow is Civil 3D based and the final deliverable is a V8 DGN file. Export to AutoCAD 1. In AutoCAD Civil 3D open DWG drawing file you want to convert to MicroStation DGN. In the command line type “EXPORTTOAUTOCAD”. The Export drawing name dialog will appear. Click the Save button.
The file will be exported to the folder. Note: Exporting a Civil 3D file to AutoCAD will create a new DWG file with all AEC objects exploded. The default Export Options should work for most files. If any options need to be changed use the command entry: -exporttoautocad or aectoacad. The export process may take some time to complete depending on the complexity of the drawing and the number of Civil 3D objects. If you get warning messages like this: 3.
Click OK to keep the export process moving. Export to MicroStation DGN 1. In AutoCAD Civil 3D open the previously exported ACAD-file. Use the AUDIT command to fix any errors. Some of the colors of the elements may have changed now that the Styles are not being used.
From the Application Menu Button select Export Export Civil 3D Drawing. The export AutoCAD Civl 3D dialog will appear. Under “Export to file type” select “MicroStation DGN” 4. Under “External DWG references” select “Bind and insert” 5. Under “Files to export” select “Current drawing only” 6. Checkmark “Include sheets” if you wish to export the layout sheets. Under “Destination folder” click the button to browse to the location where the drawing will be saved.
OPTIONAL: enter a prefix or suffix to add to the filename when exported. Expand the drawing name underneath “Files to Export” and checkmark and/or uncheck the layouts as needed. Next, select the “Export Settings” button 12. “Export file type:” should be set to MicroStation DGN 13. Pick a seed file 14.
Click OK to return to the previous dialog 15. Click Export 16.
The Export Status dialog box will appear. Wait for the DGN(s) to be created. Dell pci controller driver download. Click the OK button in the Export DGN settings dialog. The file will be exported to DGN. Note: Be warned.
The Export to MicroStation DGN process doesn’t always work. It is common for it to fail or crash Civil 3D without explanation. Verify DGN results 1. Open the exported DGN file in MicroStation. Locate a known coordinate location in the file and verify the coordinates out to 3 decimal points. From the MicroStation pull-down menu Settings Design File. The Design File Settings dialog will appear.
On the left side of the dialog select Working Units. Verify the units are US Survey Feet.
Hi guys, I'm very new to Civil 3D and need to be able to produce some example drawings for my employer to show what I've learned so far in my Civil 3D tutorials. He (my employer) suggested asking if one of you kind folks on the forums might be able to provide me with some sample drawings/files that I can open in civil 3d, ideally with the following things included:existing ground/finished ground surfaces and a volume surface (to calculate cut and fill), something displaying stormwater drainage (he wasn't specific, but I imagine he meant a graded surface with arrows to show direction of flow), subdivisions (I'm assuming he means parcel data), and road pavement.
I think he just wants examples of all the typical things you see on civil subdivision drawings. If anyone would be able to help me out and send me some files I would be VERY grateful. Regards, Lachlan. LachlanMac wrote: Hi guys, I'm very new to Civil 3D and need to be able to produce some example drawings for my employer to show what I've learned so far in my Civil 3D tutorials.

Regards, Lachlan If you use files that others post, how does that show what you've learned? As far as I can tell, that only shows what someone else learned.
So he just wants to see 'what's possible'? IMHO that would not be a very good way to go about something like that. There are so many varied ways to go about accomplishing just about anything you could ever need to do. And of course there are always going to be somethings that just can't be done. Then there are things that most people think can't be done and someone figures out a way to do it using some tool that was never meant to do that. You'd be better off working with your tutorials and asking questions here as they come up.
You'll find that most people here will freely answer your questions best they can. If you don't understand how to do something, ask. If you think you understand something but wonder if there's a better way, ask. Very rarely have I ever gone even a full work day without getting a question resolved. If the boss doesn't want to pay to send you to a C3D class, make sure he understands that it's in his best interests to allow you to spend as much time here as possible.
Autocad Architecture Sample Drawings
Even when you don't have any questions, just reading the questions OTHER PEOPLE ASK and the responses they recieve can prove very educational. Prior to my current job, I knew AutoCAD very well but I had never worked with C3D (in fact, I didn't even know anyone who had).
My boss sent me for a C3D class but the first one he was able to get me into was more than 7 months after I started working with the program. For those 7 months, I read every blog/tutorial on C3D that I could find. And I'd spend the first hour or so of every work day browsing the C3D forum just reading other people's problems and the answers they received. By the time my class rolled around, I had a decent understanding of the program and the instructor just needed to 'tweak a few things'. Hi civilman, Thanks for the reply. We're a small civil/structural firm.
My boss knows exactly what he wants the drawings to look like on paper, but he wants me to show him some examples of what others have done-for my benefit- so I can have something to look at and say 'this is what I want it to look like, how do I acheive the end result?' I realise that there are many ways to achieve an end result in this program, and I already have a good idea about how to go about drafting what he wants, and am well aware of the usefullness of reading solutions to problems on forums - thats still an excellent point and I shall continue to do so - but what I need right now is some example files to show him. Thanks again all for your replies.
